The SERP is an abbreviation for “Search Engine Results Page”. When you enter a question into Google search engine, the results that come back from google are called the Search Engine Results.

Search engine results pages for Local Web Traffic normally shows results that are within the person searching local area. This happens (for example) when someone searches for a product or service and add the phrase “Near Me”

Why are search engine results important?

To state the obvious, if your business is not listed within the first few results on the results page you will not get the traffic you are looking for!

The SERP is important because for any search term, you want your website to be listed within the first few results, certainly on the first page of results and hopefully within the first 3.
